The apartment is in Marsh Street, which connects Bristol’s historic Queen’s Square and King Street with Baldwin Street, Corn Street and St. Stephen’s Church. Within two minutes in one direction you can be strolling in a public park or on cobbled streets surrounded by wonderful Georgian buildings, or two minutes in the other direction and you are in Corn Street with its array of colourful market stalls, just outside the St. Nicholas covered market. The modern shopping areas of Broadmead, The Galleries and Cabot Circus are a short walk from the top of Corn Street.

Bristol’s old ‘Centre’ is just around the corner from the apartment. This is a huge pedestrian space with fountains and sculptures, with the harbour and numerous waterside cafes and bars at one end, and the Hippodrome theatre and Colston Hall concert venue to one side. This is also the hub of the Bristol’s excellent public transport system and you can get a bus from here to almost anywhere in and around the city, including the airport.

From the watery end of The Centre there are extensive harbourside walks in both directions and there is also a regular ferry service to various points around the harbour and even to Temple Meads rail station.

Beyond ‘The Centre’ you can get to the Wills Building, Clifton and the University area by walking up Park Street with its many shops, or you may like to tackle Bristol’s steep and ancient ‘Christmas Steps’.
